I’ve wanted my own website for a while now, especially with all of the changes that Etsy has made over the past few years. For those who don’t regularly use Etsy, the platform has significantly raised their listing and transaction fees for businesses using the site. In addition to the increased number of resellers, Etsy has also implemented some tools to “help” artists that end up asking them to pay more for less effective advertising while encouraging them to drop prices for handmade work.
While Etsy was a great place for my jewelry when I was selling my work as a side gig, it no longer fits my goals as an artist and business owner. I’ll be keeping my Etsy store open for another year or so with very limited products as I continue to improve my website. If you are considering buying a piece or requesting a custom order, please contact me through the official website instead of Etsy.
