I love making one-of-a-kind pieces that really expand my skills and let me explore different materials and styles; it’s one of the best things about being an independent artist! On that note, I am incredibly pleased to announce that I am debuting Fille de Cuivre’s first ever line of build-your-own necklaces!
I may or may not have gone a little off the rails when I ran into a retiring artist last fall who was in the process of a major de-stash of her cabochons (flat-backed stones). I’ve used cabochons occasionally in my work for statement pieces, but for one reason or another never quite caught the bug for them that other wire artists had. But these, these were STUNNING. Her selection and quality of stones was so enchanting that I wound up buying nearly three dozen from her. Those stones now form the core of the new necklace line.
So, how does it work? I’ll have individual pendants out at every sale (online shoppers, stay tuned as I hope to get some pendants posted in the coming weeks). Let’s choose this one for now, from the sample of styles above.
Once you’ve selected a pendant, you have a choice of cord lengths, colors, and styles. Pictured here is my selection of braided cords, which are my absolute favorites for statement pendants. Today, I’m going with a classic and classy espresso brown.
Once you’ve got a cord and pendant selected, I’ll string the pendant for you. And voilà You’ve now got a beautiful statement piece that’s just as lovely and unique as you!
